Mondays: May 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd from 6:30-9:30pm Without a clear understanding of yourself, your motivations, your relationships and your values, it’s impossible to create a life that matters, or even make a decision without doubt. Goethe wrote, “Trust yourself. Then you will know how to live.” Over four weeks, we’ll talk about what got you here, what brings you joy and what you want in your future. By understanding yourself, understanding your relationships, and understanding your world, you’ll have the tools to make clear decisions and the resources to act clearly. Using art making, writing prompts, and in class exercises to clarify your values and goals, we’ll work together to create a specific personal plan for your own self-care that will guide your decision making far into the future. No art experience required!

Thursdays: May 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th from 6:30-9:30pm Join our three Lab leaders who have worked on three of the most successful crowdfunding campaigns in Portland history including a radio station (which raised $103,762), a park (which raised $123,880), and a new kind of college (which raised $206,451). Bring an idea that you want to get crowdfunded and you'll receive personalized attention to sharpen your plans and improve your execution. You’ll leave with a primer on grassroots fundraising, a timeline template for your campaign (counting backwards from launch), and personalized next steps and tips for improving your odds and increasing the amount you raise.
Wednesdays: June 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th from 6:30-9:30pm What is holding you back from living the life you’ve always wanted for yourself? Is it money? Is it the lack of a plan or creative ideas? For the last four years Jedd and Michelle Chang have been living as digital nomads; traveling, living, and working from around the world. From visiting over 15+ countries (with mostly-free international flights) to not paying a single dollar of rent when they are back in the states, all while living off of a combined budget of $18,000 a year. Find out how you, too, can live your dream life now instead of waiting to do so after ‘retirement’ - and without breaking the bank. In this Lab, you’ll learn how to identify and prioritize the things in life that are most important to you, how to create a plan (financial and otherwise) to work towards your dreams, and discover unconventional “life hacks” for life, work, and travel. Get inspired to leverage out-of-the-box thinking and intentionality to accomplish your life goals.
The Art & Science of Creative Podcasting: From Storytelling to Marketing
Saturdays: June 24th, 9:00am - 4:00pm & July 8th, 9:00am - 4:00pm So you think you might want to start a podcast? In this Wayfinding lab, you’ll explore aspects of podcasting all the way from what’s needed to create one and if podcasting is the right fit for you, to how to stand out in a sea of noise and develop a tribe of raving audiophile fans. You’ll learn how and why to employ the essential ingredient of storytelling in your show, and how a variety of marketing ideas will enable you to rise above the rest. Even if you ultimately decide not to do a podcast, you’ll walk away with tools to help you more effectively get your message out into the world, no matter your platform.
