WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
Participants will spend three days in Ashland Oregon attending The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) which is a regional repertory theatre. Each year, the Festival produces many plays, usually a few from Shakespeare and the remainder by other playwrights, on three stages during an eight-month long season.
Along with attending 3 plays (Cambodian Rock Band, Mother Road, & Between Two Knees descriptions here) during the weekend, participants will also receive a general backstage tour of the sets and be introduced to some of the actors. Additionally, there will be time to relax, explore the city of Ashland including the markets, the eclectic food scene, and the beautiful parks.
Throughout the three days there will be opportunities to engage in meaningful conversations with fellow participants around topics of power, legacy, and the importance of art in sparking transformation in both ourselves and the world. Lodging will be at a local hostel located close to the venue.
September 27- Arrive at Wayfinding Academy and meet fellow travelers. Divide into groups and carpool down to Ashland. Once arrived we will get settled into the hostel and grab an early dinner. Afterwards the group will attend the play Between Two Knees at 8pm.
September 28 -Meet for a light breakfast. Head out to one of the theaters for a backstage tour at 10am. Explore Ashland´s shopping, beautiful parks, or just relax. Head to the first play of the day at 130pm called Mother Road. Meet for an early dinner together. Take in the last play of the trip at 8pm titled Cambodian Rock Band.
Sept. 29- Meet for a light breakfast. Get packed and travel back to Wayfinding Academy to arrive early afternoon.
No prior experience is necessary to join this trip.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ON THE TRIP?
There is a cap of 15 people. Registration is first come, first served.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Students: $250 (several $100 scholarships available!)
Luminaries, Board, Crew: $300
Community Members: $350
Why are costs different for different groups of people? We charge Wayfinding students the absolute minimum cost to attend the trip to make it as affordable as possible for them. For those in our community including crew, faculty, guides, board members, parents of students, and Luminaries, we offer the trip at a rate that helps cover some of our administrative costs of planning the trip but still at a discount. Finally, we ask communities members to pay just over the standard price of the trip to help subsidize student participation.
Costs to be finalized by August 2019. We anticipate the estimate to the maximum amount anyone would pay.
Housing for two nights (nights of September 27th thru 29th)
Light breakfasts and snacks (September 27th thru 29th). Lunches and dinners are on your own.
What's not included?

Spending money for the trip. We recommend $50-$100 total..
