Ashland, Oregon: Oregon Shakespeare Festival
Friday, September 29th - Sunday, October 1st
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
Join a super rad group of people as we spend the last weekend of September at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We will attend three performances (Julius Caesar, Off the Rails, and UniSon), have a backstage tour, explore the city of Ashland, and partake in student led discussions and activities. Some of the major themes we will focus on throughout are power, legacy and the importance of the arts in sparking transformation in both ourselves and the world.
September 29th: Arrive in Ashland and check into Ashland Commons Hostel. We will plan to have dinner together as a group both Friday and Saturday nights. Our first show of the weekend, Julius Caesar, begins at 8:00pm.
September 30th: Spend the morning exploring Ashland and participate in student led discussions and activities. Enjoy UniSon at 1:30pm and Off the Rails at 8:00pm.
October 1st: Join for a backstage tour at 10:00am and then depart for Portland.
No prior experience is necessary to join this trip.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ON THE TRIP?
There is a cap of eight people (including a trip leader). Registration is first come, first served.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Luminaries, Board, Crew: $260
Community Members: $280
Why are costs different for different groups of people? We charge Wayfinding students the absolute minimum cost to attend the trip to make it as affordable as possible for them. For those in our community including crew, faculty, guides, board members, parents of students, and Luminaries, we offer the trip at a rate that helps cover some of our administrative costs of planning the trip but still at a discount. Finally, we ask communities members to pay just over the standard price of the trip to help subsidize student participation.
