Santa Fe, New Mexico: Santa Fe Community College
Sunday, August 6th - Sunday, August 13th
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
Join us as we travel down to Santa Fe, New Mexico for a week long intensive learning course in partnership with Santa Fe Community College. We'll spend the week covering sustainable use and production of food, water, and energy in the 21st century. Current and potential food, water, and energy systems will be examined including solar energy, water conservation and operations, alternative fuels, algae cultivation, and controlled environment agriculture.
August 6th - Arrive in Santa Fe and check into the Santa Fe hostel (your home away from home for the week). We'll plan on doing dinner that night as a group.
August 7th - 11th - Spend the week in a hands-on learning environment focused on sustainability.
August 12th - Spend the day exploring Santa Fe!
August 13th - Depart for home.
No prior experience is necessary to join this trip.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE ON THE TRIP?
There is a cap of twelve people (including a trip leader). Registration is first come, first served.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Students: $417 ($332 paid directly to Wayfinding + an $85 course fee)
Luminaries, Board, Crew: $500 ($415 paid directly to Wayfinding + an $85 course fee)
Community Members: $575 ($490 paid directly to Wayfinding + an $85 course fee)
Why are costs different for different groups of people? We charge Wayfinding students the minimum cost to attend the trip to make it as affordable as possible for them. For those in our community including crew, faculty, guides, board members, parents of students, and Luminaries, we offer the trip at a rate that helps cover some of our administrative costs of planning the trip but still at a discount. Finally, we ask communities members to pay just over the standard price of the trip to help subsidize student participation.
