Welcome back, Wayfinders

A new term has begun at Wayfinding Academy, a term unlike any other.

For the first time in Wayfinding history, both cohorts are taking a course together. That course is titled Making Good Choices, and it's taught by Sarah Wolfarth, who had this to say after the first day of class:

With the combination of all students in the Making Good Choices course, I am aware of the differences of where both groups are at in their Wayfinding journey. There is bound to be a certain amount of complexity in situations like this, and I’m looking forward to working with the large group as we explore what can be created with all our energies combined (I’m hoping its something like the Care Bear stare).

In case you're not familiar, here's the Care Bear stare that Sarah referenced:

Looks about right :)

The other course that started this week is Engaging with Information, taught by Tiffany Vann Sprecher (who's also a Guide and Wayfinding's Internship Coordinator).

Here's what Tiffany had to say about the first day of class:

I had my first class yesterday and it was great! Everything was truly collaborative, from determining how class would be run to the shape and content of class discussion. Students are diving in - some have already begun research for projects that they’ll present next week. I think it’s going to be a challenging and rewarding term for all of us!

In addition to those courses that just began, students also have Labs, internships, and independent studies on the horizon.

Overlaying all of those learning opportunities are weekly Guide Group meetings and one-on-one chats between each student and their Guide.

Students and Guides gathering in Navigation Hall for the first Guide Group meeting of the new term! Notice anything different about the ceiling or walls (hint, hint)?

After a restful winter break, we're excited for the influx of activity and energy that has filled our campus this week.

If we take that as an indicator of what's to come, then it looks to be a transformative term.
